Non-Meet Jobs
Following are brief descriptions of job necessary to run our swim team. There is always a job that needs to be done for SSS hosted meets, so don't hesitate to ask a coach about volunteer jobs. Please read carefully and choose a job (or jobs) that sound interesting to you. Then follow through by making sure someone in your family is available for that position, and by making sure that someone on the SSS board of directors or the coach is aware of your interest.
Historian | Keeps a scrapbook of all meets and newspaper articles pertaining to the team. |
Newspaper/Media | Promotes the team by communicating with the local media. |
Newsletter | Collects articles and publish the SSS newsletter: The Serpent’s Tail. |
Team e-mail | Maintains a team e-mail list and sends out information. |
Board of Directors | The team’s day-to-day operations are run by the SSS Board of Directors. If you are interested in being on the board, please talk to a coach. |
Awards Banquet Committee | Helps plan the end-of-the-year banquet. |
Social/Fun Event Coordinators | Organizes and put on social events for the team. Also, coordinates volunteers to help with the event. |
Team Merchandise | Coordinates the sale of SSS clothing and attire. Works with the coaching staff to purchase and sell team apparel (suits, caps, parkas, etc.). |
Volunteers Coordinator | Organizes volunteers for various SSS functions and tracks each family’s interests in volunteering for various team jobs. |
3rd of July Fireworks Stand |
Organizes the fireworks stand at the 3rd of July Anay fireworks show, or helps set-up, break-down, and/or work at the booth. |
Sponsorship | Finds/keeps track of sponsors and makes sure sponsor signs are made and placed at the pool. |
Swim 4 Funds | Coordinates the annual fundraising activity. |
