Practice Groups

Swimmers are placed in the appropriate group based on age and ability:

Pre-Team (Ages 8 & Under | Small Pool | 2 days/week)
An introductory group focused on water comfort and foundational skills. Swimmers learn body position, kicking, arm movement, and water safety while working toward side-breathing freestyle and backstroke.

Advanced Pre-Team (Ages 8 & Under | Lap Pool | 2 days/week | Begins in June)
For swimmers ready for the next step, this group transitions into the deep lap pool while continuing to build foundational skills and confidence.

Junior Serpents (Ages 10 & Under | Lap Pool | 3 days/week)
Swimmers continue developing freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke, along with water safety skills. Practices include skill-building, games, and relays.
Prerequisite: ability to swim freestyle with side breathing and backstroke.

Focus on refining all four competitive strokes while building strength, technique, and aerobic endurance.

Group 2 (Ages 14 & Under | Lap Pool)
Advanced training group emphasizing stroke efficiency, starts, turns, and race preparation. Swimmers are introduced to pace, intervals, and heart-rate training in preparation for high school competition.
